Our Training Methods
"In every class, Suzanne says, the training methods are
positive. Praise and petting are tools people always have on hand, and training
treats are a fun and easy way to help accelerate learning." --Holly Hein,
Dog Nose News
Simply stated, our approach is to reward desirable behaviors and use
management techniques and the withdrawal of attention to prevent or extinguish
behaviors we don’t want. We will work to make owners aware of their
unintentional reinforcement of undesirable behaviors and the need to reinforce
preferred behaviors that the dog offers. Owners are encouraged to find ways to
work on modifying these behaviors throughout the day, not just during formal
training sessions.

Trainer
Jennifer Keene, APDT member
Since 2001, Jen Keene has proven an energetic addition to Pup-A-Razzi.
Recently, Jen became a full partner in our business (welcome on board, Jen!).
Jen is an avid student of positive training methods. She attended both the
2002 and 2003 APDT conferences and has also completed training courses at
Seaworld Orlando.
Jen's goal is to help people and their dogs appreciate each others'
talents and to live life the fullest in the world around them. |
Lisa Harper, agility instructor

"Know thy dog, " Lisa tells her students with a smile. The game of agility is
a team sport. Each member of the team contributes a unique set of talents, and
the better each member knows the other's talents and foibles, the better a team
they make. Lisa works with her students on body language and positioning
to achieve better communication.
A
founding member at Pup-A-Razzi, Lisa has taught agility courses by popular
demand. She is currently owned by four dogs who train with her in agility, water
work, obedience and herding. (There was some tracking in there somewhere, but
that requires early mornings!)
